Well I have been feeling so gross lately and it all started when I decided to let myself have a little "cheat" day and have... McDonalds.
Every time I tell myself that it is ok to "cheat" every once in awhile, it is so hard for me to get back on track-- no matter how much I believe that I will be fine! It is so frustrating.
I watched a documentary today called "Hungry for Change" and it really opened my eyes to how food can mess with us so much. They mentioned that diet coke is particularly bad for you and can cause headaches and migraines... well guess what I've been suffering with the past 3 days? Very bad headaches. Guess what I have been consuming lately (that I actually don't normally consume) to power me through a big weekend? Diet coke. And I have felt like crap!
Anyway, I was also encouraged to learn that some of this really isn't our fault. These foods like HFCS and things with hydrogenated oils are actually made so that we're basically addicted! Shocking. They talked about juicing / detox to start a diet plan then follownig a mostly plant based diet of whole foods. I am afraid to try it, but at the same time I have a feeling that it couldn't possibly be wrong and will most likely be the way that I will truly stay healthy once and for all. So I am considering buying a juicer and have been looking up recipes from Whole Food's.
