I've spent a lot of time lately going BACKWARDS... Right now I have a surge of energy and enthusiasm and want to seize the moment and keep that momentum so that I can swing that scale back in the right direction!! (Wow.. that was a lot of action wordage there... LOL!)
Goals are Dreams with a deadline. SMART - specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time sensitive... (at least that's how I remember SMART goals from school!) I want to lose (at least) 15 pounds during BLC22. But the real science behind the statement... HOW am I going to do that?
I know hands down that for ME, my problem lies with my calories IN. When I don't log, I'm a mess! I have been so far removed from logging... I know there have been plenty of days that I would have been over my range by noon had I tracked every BLT. That is NOT acceptable!! I've said it before (many times, actually...) that my most successful times are when I was paying close attention to CICO (calories IN vs calories OUT).
THAT is going to be my secret of success over the next 12 weeks (and beyond).
I have 2 streaks that I have committed to:
1) The BLC Streak: Exercise 20 minutes, 5 days per week. My plan to get it done: Continue to utilize my lunch break for runs/spinning. On days when that's not possible, engage my kids for a minimum of 20 minutes. Today I tricked my DS Ryan into a 35 minute walk to try to find the cows... they weren't in the pasture, but we had a nice time :-)
2) Log every BLT (bite, lick, taste) at least 6 out of 7 days per week. I'm getting back into the habit of using my LoseIt app and love it! It's links with my FitBit profile as well as it receives my SP weigh-in. How cool is that? I love the visual feedback it provides and makes it a tad bit more enjoyable! I have it on my phone, so there is no excuse to not get it done!!
There it is. There's no secret... it's just hard work and more attention to details. Top that off with INCREDIBLE support, this dream of turning this train wreck around is going to be a reality!!
