I got back on track with my running today. I have been letting it slide a little as I have been busy kayaking. But today I got out there and ran 2.1 miles in 18 minutes. I didn't run the whole thing, but other than pausing to look both ways before crossing the street I only took two walking breaks today. I found my breathing to be easier today. I wasn't gasping and panting the way I have been. I was still breathing pretty heavy, but it wasn't as labored. I ran in the rain today, but it was a fairly warm day, so it felt good. Not like the cold rain we had last week. I think Wednesday when I run that I am going to push to run the whole thing. If I can, then I will do the 3.2 mile loop on Friday, instead of waiting until next week like I had planned.

Not that I am giving up kayaking. Nope. I have tentative plans to go out Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and then at least once this coming weekend. I just have to organize my time so that I have walked the dog and taken my run before lunch each day. It is doable. It just means I need to get up a little earlier than I did today. lol...

I had a terrific dinner tonight. I baked a chicken thigh and a sweet potato, then cut the sweet potato open and laid the chicken on top. Then I made a spicy blueberry sauce with blueberries, balsamic vinegar and cayenne and poured that over top the sweet potato and chicken. I also had a side of peas. It was so tasty! I don't usually think of cooking blueberries, much less making them spicy, but it turned out really good. I will have to make that again! Now I am off to bake muffins. I love muffins fresh out of the oven. They don't even need butter.

So, a good day today with the running (I also walked the dog about 10 miles). I have the speed, now I need distance. Think I will be ready for that 5k on the 29th?
