I got sick of dieting last week and really did a number on myself. I ate out, high fat high protein foods, and then yesterday morning I decided to face the music so I got on the scale and what happened - I lost 2-1/2 pounds in 1 week! I told my sister about it and she said it sounded like the Atkins diet, so I researched it and sure enough I accidentally put myself on Atkins. Soooo, long story short I have decided to try Atkins for awhile. And this being the amazing site it is, all the Atkins foods have been entered into the database already so I'm good to go. It was so nice to have scrambled eggs and cheese this morning for breakfast without any guilt! Wish me luck.

    think a lot of us just don't eat enough and when we do, we lose weight .... there is a lot to be said about putting ourselves in that "starvation" mode ... I believe I do that way too much by limiting myself way too much .... you go girl !! sounds great to me .... Roc

    It's good for a jumpstart, but when I tried it, I was sooo constipated until I got to add in some carbs.

    I don't like any diet where you restrict or eliminate a particular kind of food, but they can be good for jumpstarts.

Saw your blog and was encouraged. Joined Sparkpeople again a couple of months ago and can't seem to get with it. When you said you just had to go off your diet, it hit me like a rock. It seems all my waking hours have my diet on my mind. I did Atkins once and loved it. You will do great. My problem is uric acid. I can't have that much protein any more. I also read somewhere that if you are bogging down on Your diet, changing to a different diet will give you the boost you had when you first start a diet. God bless you CATFANDU! YOU GO GIRL!

    I tried Atkins before and I was sooooooooooo tired because you're not eating carbs. But everyones body is different so this may be the diet for you!! Good Luck!!! emoticon
