This is the short week version of the blog. I canít believe this week is finally here! It is vacation week, well almost. Only 3 days this week then lots of driving. Then lots of diving and riding!
Itís funny how things hit me. I was sitting there yesterday packing and getting ready, and it dawned on me, I did not drive my car in to work one day last week. I basically let my son use it the whole time he was there and I took the bus. Not only that, but I walked home from work twice. Not too shabby a week.
Yesterday I took a 4.4 mile walk with jogging intervals. Still kind of taking it slow, but I did six intervals in there of jogging at about 0.1 mile per stretch. In some cases 0.2 miles per stretch. I ended up making the 4.4 miles in 60 min. Not too shabby and also, I can promise it is not a pace I have ever kept up before. On Friday, I shaved 3 minutes off my 5.5 mile walk home from work. That pace was just under 4.0 mph, and that is always what I shoot for. Although when I walk that home Wednesday after work, I will add a few jogging intervals in there which will speed that pace up I am sure. The nice thing is, no matter what, I will be able to get lots of exercise this week. I was thinking Thursday might have been wasted due to the long drive, but I am thinking I may get up and walk before we start.
In an interesting note, I am almost in the top 25 in fitness minutes for the Cincinnati area on Spark America. I was curious to see where I ranked, and was shocked that it is about 32. So, I am hoping that with diving and riding this week, I should be move up for the month of June! And I donít even record the sessions of core work I am doing. I am only recording the cardio.
On a, this is pathetic note, I am already packed! I am never packed and ready to go this early for a trip. I am the one who is packing and then walking out the door. The only thing left is the CPAP machine and to load the car. I bought some yogurt and apples for snacks on the ride. So, hopefully I can keep the cravings for candy bars and stuff at bay. Also to supplement meals. Need to research the mobile app for spark people now though. It dawned on me tracking will be made simpler if I use the app, I have tried using the mobile webpage but got frustrated. So, going to look into the app. I am hoping to just eat lots of seafood while there. Maybe enjoy a few beers, but not many.
But, the main reason I am already packed is just all the stuff I have to do tonight and tomorrow night. Well, honestly tonight is just the gym. Tomorrow the kids have tennis camp so I wonít even get home till about 9:30 and will be hitting the bed not long after that. So, for once in my life I decided to be prepared. Lol Sad thing is that work wise, I am already like the Eagles song. Already Gone! Lol.
