Ahhhhhh. I haven't had a totally free weekend like this in such a long time (not that I haven't been doing fun things on my weekends for the last 6 weeks, but it's been awhile since I wasn't slated for something all weekend.) So, this weekend made up for that, and to top it all off -- it was great weather outside.
Thankfully I had planned out how to get all of my cleaning "chores" done during the week, so once Friday came around -- all the laundry was done, all the dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, groceries etc -- was all finished. I LOVED it - but it made for a busy week.
So Saturday morning, I got up, and decided that I would go take a Body Combat class at my gym. It's a class that I just love, but haven't been able to take since all of my weekends have been booked. It was a blast -- there was a sub teacher, but she rocked it, and I totally had fun. So much fun, that afterwards, I decided to stay for the zumba class (different teacher) -- which was also fun and energizing. I felt so great!
Next -- I decided to bring my car to the automatic car cleaning place -- this was sortof a chore I'd meant to do earlier, but since all it involved was me driving there, and them doing all the work -- I didn't mind. Always great to have a clean car. Went home, had a super healthy lunch and worked on some computer stuff I'd been meaning to do for awhile. Went and had an awesome massage on Saturday afternoon -- SO relaxing. Got home, made a healthy dinner, and did a combination of watch tv shows and study spanish. Tried to go to bed early, but that sorta failed as I woke up around midnight wide awake.
(So for whatever reason, I decided I ought to look up my online HSA account for work, to make sure it was crediting properly. Odd. Because when I looked it up, there were two transactions on there from 3 days ago -- one to a hotel in CA, and another for a car towing company in CA as well. HSA = health savings debit account. So, spent some time calling the "night people" at the credit card company to figure out what was going on -- that was an exercise in frustration, but at least the card had already been frozen due to "suspicious activity not consistent with my normal spending habits". hehe. So I've got to call on Monday when a "day person" is working. Finally went to sleep around 2 or 3 am -- and slept great until 8am.
Sunday morning, had a yummy egg and thin bagel breakfast sandwich, then decided to go take a "Sh'Bam" class at my gym. I'd never even heard of it, but it's sorta like zumba I concluded -- maybe not quite as high energy, but was still fun. So afterwards, I decided I still had enough energy that I ought to do some running on the treadmill (I'm still working my way up to getting back to where I was.) Did a 12x2, and then cooled down and went home.
WOW. I wish I had enough time for every weekend to include that much working out! It felt great.
This afternoon, I did some mini-goal and SPpage revisions. Going to see how this first jumpstart week goes (Me-day on Saturday this week -- I've got an ambitious 4 lbs mini-goal 1 for this first week, so I'm really trying to hit the exercise hard in hopes of shocking my body into reaching this goal), and then figure out what a reasonable mini-goal #2 and #3 ought to be. I've also come to the conclusion that I need to get about 5-6 hours of real cardio/working out in each week, in addition to eating within my ranges. This isn't exactly news to me, but I hadn't been really focusing on getting as much exercise in, as I think it's going to take to get the scale moving in the right direction.
Had steamed scallops and veggies for dinner tonight -- YUM. One of my favorite meals. Going to try and get more fish meals in this week. So far I have 5 "fish" meals planned for dinner this week -- looking to get all those omega fatty acids in.
I'm a person that if I don't see some sort of progress after a few weeks, then I start to get discouraged -- so plateaus often send me into a tailspin after the third week. I've read a couple people talk about plateaus that lasted months or even a year -- please please, I hope this does not happen to me. :-)
GOALS this week:
** Stick to my menu and exercise plan (finalize exercise plan -- I need to decide whether or not I really am going to be up for a 5:30 am class at my gym this week or not -- but would be good for me).
** Drink all of my water EVERY DAY this week.
** Stay in my nutrient & calorie ranges, and eat 5 servings fruits/veggies per day
** Get 5-6 hours of intentional exercise in this week (1.5 hours done so far)
** Make an effort to get protein intake within 30-60 mins after workouts this week
** Blog each day this week to stay accountable
This is going to be an AWESOME week!
