Day 533 - M

Sunday, June 09, 2013

It's official - chiggers are here. Arrrgggghhhh..... They're beyond awful. This will last until it gets cold again and will accelerate as it gets hotter. They love the hottest weather and will bite like there's no tomorrow. Ticks are still here too. Usually, once the chiggers come out, the ticks go away. But this year they're over lapping for the double whammy.

@ Heidi - The last time I went on the trail for 15 min. without stopping, cardio hiking, I came back with 5 ticks fully dug in. Still have big welts from that jaunt. I have to get nearly all of the cardio done inside the house - also do intervals, running in place for 3-4 min., then go back into a very fast walk. I just do laps. Really don't want to get Lyme disease!! Even when I don't go out, I think Jetta brings them in and 2 nights ago I woke up with one dug into my ear and another one just crawling on my neck. Not much sleep either! I can still do some of the cardio on the gravel driveway though, but can't go in the woods.

Today's mileage: 9.28 miles
ST: core; lower body

Thanks for stopping by today if you had time. Hope your Sunday was blessed & wonderful. emoticon

I have gotten lucky the last 2 days with no ticks. I usually catch them before they attach but I make sure to check everywhere before I shower. Maybe when it warms up and get drier, they will be a thing of the past. Stay safe!

I'm working in the yard and have to do routine checks. I wear heavy socks and long pants as a deterrent...but it still happens. Just keep Sparkin'!!
