Oh, how I hate to get up in the morning

Sunday, June 09, 2013

For 90% of my adult life, the minute the alarm went off, I had to jump out of bed and get going. And way too early.

After I became unemployed and with no children to take to school, I can get up when I want. On the days when I go to the gym, I get up around the same time pretty successfully. But there are a few days a week when what time I get up is immaterial. My errands can be done whenever, and those days are becoming a problem!! It is getting harder and harder to drag myself out of bed--it's just so cozy!

I have also come to the conclusion, that every time I decide that I will go for a walk in the morning the next day, I have a harder time getting up that morning, until it is just not really going to work for me to go out. Hah! Talk about passive-aggressive!

I can find all kinds of excuses to keep me from doing what I'm supposed to do, but my body has reached the point that it won't let me stay in bed late. I guess I'm returning to my second childhood--waking up and needing to move after a few hours! emoticon

    Too funny!
I long for the day when the days that I have to get up early are outnumbered by the days that I don't.

I do have many days like this as well. Since I retired, I feel blessed that I can just get up whenever I want.

I am there, too, although I am still working. It is SO HARD to get up. The funny thing is, that I am a MORNING PERSON!!

Oh, well. You and I shall keep at it, yes?

Such a challenge to cross the bridge...from what I know TO what I DO.

That's where the NIKE slogan helps me. Don't think...JUST DO IT. (Usually if I think about it, I've already lost the battle.)

Oh dear I can relate !!! I can't tell you how many times I have said I am gonna go for a walk, go ride my bike, do an exercise DVD, just go do SOMETHING that moves my body, but ..... I am ashamed to say, I am just lazy !!!! I find no joy, no interest, no motivation, no energy no nothing for exercise !!!! I know there is def a huge benefit don't get me wrong, I just can't change my mind to DO IT !!!! Even dancing which I do love to do, isn't fun alone. I've looked around and there just isn't anything free that I can take part in with a group of people that I would like to do for fitness.

But I will not give up because I know the healthy benefits are plentiful, so I keep trying, even if it only lasts a month, a week, a day or even 10 mins, I'll just keep giving it a try.

Good luck to you. Thanks for listening !!
