WHAT a beautiful hike this is! But this is the sign that greets you at the trailhead:

But we were prepared this year! I had a pair of well-seasoned hiking boots, my wonderful Black Diamond poles, and a lot of experience under my belt.

Mohawk Falls. This is called a "wedding cake" falls because of the different cascades. It's 37 feet tall.

Ganoga falls, 94 feet high!

Sheldon Reynolds falls, 36 feet. This is a "bridal veil" falls because it is just one drop.

Lots of wet, moss-covered slippery steps!

This is FL Ricketts falls. He named the falls after native American tribes AND family and friends:

Loved this photo! The family that hikes together, stays together! The mom had a baby in a front pack. (They were NOT on the falls trail, but on a flat trail through the woods.)

Today is our final day here and we'll be hosting our daughter, SIL and granddaughter for a hot dog roast over the campfire. Tomorrow we leave for Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire, for....more hiking! AND we'll have electric, water, and sewer at our campsite so we'll be living large.

Have a wonderful Sunday, Sparkfriends, and I'll be checking in with all of you next week.

I really like to visit Falls. They can be so different. I have seen some in Washington and Oregon that were beautiful to mention a few. I even like small ones in streams.

Are you not simply amazed by all that you are capbale of doing? Imagine having to miss any of this beauty.

The sounds of these different types of falls must be notably distinct...? You'll have to post new pics of baby Rebecca. At four months she is sure to be adorable.

Someone must have had a very bad experience for the lawyers to come up with warning signs like that.

All too often people forget that they are not invincible and stuff happens so it makes that greeting necessary. Wonder how many folks actually stop to read it, the one that probably need to, probably don't. :(
Thank you for sharing the pics with us. It makes me want to get out there too. The pic of the family brought thought of my son and his. They just got back from Blowing Rock, NC.
Old Man of the Mountain is just not the same since his face fell off , but Franconia Notch is still quite a lovely area. Enjoy!
