Sept. 13, 2012 I set my 1st SMART goals. They were quite a bit different than the ones I have here. I'm not in as good shape physically as I was then. The operation on my foot in October 2012 left me with more pain and problems than I had before. I have pain when I flex my foot or go up and down stairs. I am finally getting the tendon stretched out enough to walk comfortably. The back of my foot is partially numb. If I'm tired or hurting my foot seems to flop down rather than have a controlled movement. I also seem to be less upbeat or positive than I was back then.
GOAL: Do 30 minutes of exercise every day. This is attainable because I count gardening as exercise and I work in my garden every day, unless it really bad weather. I'm not talking about planting a few flowers or seeds. I'm talking about weeding, tilling, mowing and raking. On the days I don't garden I will do work out on the Wii Fit.
GOAL: Follow the Lyn Genet "The Plan" guidelines and stay away from my reactive foods - Pork, Potatoes, Vinegar, and Wheat. On Wednesday test a new food. Wednesday because it is after the Weigh-in and if I react to the food and gain weight I will have 6 friendly days to lose it.
GOAL: Drink 1/2 my weight in ounces of water before 7:30 each night.
GOAL: Track my food daily. I'm pretty good at tracking now but I miss once or twice a week. I want to track the whole 12 weeks.
GOAL: Write in my journal daily. I used to write daily but since the 1st of the year have struggled to even make a weekly entry. I just looked and I haven't written anything since April.
Following these goals I hope to get my old self back - only with less weight.
