Why do I want to get healthy?

So today's SparkCoach assignment is to think about why I want to get healthy. This has always been hard for me. I know that it will makeme feel better be able to do all of the things that I want to do and that it will stave off heriditary health issues. This the intellectual reasons. Where I have trouble with are the emotional issues that result in cravings. I have not been able to pinpoint the emotions that are behind them.

That will be my ultimate goal. Once I can silence those then I can stick with my plan.

    Yes, pinpointing emotions is difficult. At first, I had to not focus on those, but the specific times of day when I would start over eating. I tried to find something else to do during that time, and plan my meals away from that time of day to prevent it from happening. For example, 4pm is usually a bad time for me. So in order to prevent over eating I make sure to have a large breakfast and lunch, and wait to have a small dessert (fruit, sweetened yogurt, even a piece of dark chocolate with tea mmmm) afterwards.
    If I feel the need to stick in the kitchen, instead of eating something, I'll just clean the counters or the dishes to keep my hands busy.
