It's time to act!

Friday, June 07, 2013

Yes, it's time for me to get serious about losing some of this weight. I've been able to keep a few pounds off but I need to lose more. It is a cooler season right now so I should be able to take walks more comfortably. I can't walk fast because of my messed up knee/leg but I can walk so I need to do so.

I have lots of veggies in the house right now so I need to concentrate on eating more veggies. Also cut back on the starches some. I'm ready to work on getting healthier..... AGAIN.

Today's Positives:
1. I've had a good week at work. Nursing School where I teach only has two weeks left of school for this academic year.
2. I've started preparing the computer course that I will teach to student nurses this summer. It is a non credit type course with no grades. Just fun. Most have never before used a computer.
3. I'm ready to act... to live a healthier lifestyle.

You can do it Carolyn! A little bit at a time to get things going is a great idea!

If you are ready to commit, then it will happen.
Sounds like you have a good plan and the season is with you!
Good Luck and just take it easy with that leg. Remember 10 minutes 3 times a day is just as good as 30 one time a day! And may be easier on your leg/knee! =)
Have a delightful Sunday!

Good job Carolyn. I hope you are able to get out and walk a bit. It'll be good for your knee to help with the mobility.

I reached a similar decision a little while ago and the best thing we decided on was to ban bread entirely. Usually I agree with the principal of portion control but bread is my nemesis. It was a good idea.

I'm glad to hear that your knee is feeling better enough to do some walking! And congratulations on keeping off the weight you've already lost!

I need to get seriously motivated again. Sounds like emoticon all we have to do is emoticon forward and we'll reach those goals.
Have fun with the computer classes. Enjoy life. The journey is one step at a time - no matter how slowly we go we are improving ourselves. emoticon
