feeling down

Friday, June 07, 2013

My best friends wedding is in September and the thought that i was going to have to look good in her wedding party got me excited about losing weight. I lost a bunch of weight and last year i was down to 168! but now i have hit a plateau... i gain a few lbs and then lose it and i feel like no matter what i do i cant keep going! it makes me really depressed and sometimes i feel like giving up. i gained back about 20 lbs between the holidays and i just feel like i will never get it off again.

If you do a search on SparkPeople for plateau, it will bring up a few articles that discuss things you can do to push through the plateau. I hope you find something that helps you! emoticon

I'm in the same plateau boat as you are. People keep telling me I'm getting thinner and usually it's when the scale has gone up that they tell me this.

I am going through the same ordeal! You can't let it get you down though. Believe me! I was standing in the mirror the other night convinced I was "ugly" because I hadn't lost any weight. Needless to say, I totally lied to myself. It's like my younger sister told me: You have to love who you are regardless of your size. As for the plateau, look at your dietary and exercise habits. Have you been doing the same thing? Try switching things up. Maybe get more active, or increase (yes, increase!) your dietary limitations. Or both! You may get different results! Listen to what your body is trying to tell you it needs. And always remember: You. Are. Beautiful. emoticon

You can totally do this! The summer is just getting started, spend some time outside soaking up the sun (For real though, put on sunscreen! All you really want is that vitamin D!) and letting go of all negativity! When I really need to just free my mind, I put in my headphones, start walking and don't come home until I've stopped thinking of the things weighing me down mentally. emoticon
