oh not that TLA

A while ago....I was educated by a 'friend' (ahem) about certain abbreviations and TLAs. This is my response
(tongue in cheek)


TLAs are three not more not less
404 -- You have made an error and no matter how many time you hit the button, it ain’t gunna change
:( :) :-( :-) :-* :-0 :-| -:| ;-) ;-|
Varying smiles, frowns and other facial expressions-winking or not, with or w/o noses, blah, blah, blah
== -- equal(s) and has always equaled equal
:-P a raspberry… not wagging, a straight out, spray you raspberry
AAO – awake alert oriented
ADIH – at dad’s, in house
ADIP – against details in plan
AKA – above knee amputation
AOB- alcohol on breath
BID-twice a day
BKA-below knee amputation
C/O-complaining of
CT-computerized tomography
D/C-discontinue
DX-diagnosis
FUD – for unknown destination
FX-fracture
HA-headache
HX-history
IM-intramuscular
ML-milliliter
MVA-motor vehicle accident
NPO-nothing by mouth
NS FW –not strange, fricking weird
O.O – blank stare
OMG – most shocking thing EVER
OOP-out of bed
OP – off point
OT -- off table
OTOH -- on the other hand
PO-by mouth
PRN-as needed
QD – every day
QH-every hour
R/O—rule out
ROM-range of motion
TKO-to keep open
TU -- thank you
VO-verbal order

I have fixed many of them as well as added more for everyone's amusement
