What Should My Caloric Intake Be?

When I let SP select my caloric intake their range is 1,520 - 1,870.

According to the Spark Solution my range should be 1,200-1,300. (Short, Over 50, and Post Menopausal! Triple Whammy!)

That is a huge difference!

The higher range I like because I like food.

The lower range is good because I want to lose weight. I do not want to eat so low that loss slows down!

Dropping 100 lbs overnight would work for me--LOL! emoticon

    I changed mine because I thought theres was too high and when I asked my doctor she said what I picked was good. So you could try to decrease and if you feel too full then decrease more. or ask your doctor.

    Ha ha ha. Well I figure the site is taking into account more factors that just the general range mentioned in the book. But if you're not losing enough, maybe go down on the range a bit?

    I always try to stay in the lower range. However, if I hit the higher range every once in awhile I do not stress since it states I am still in my range. I agree with ANDI571 though, I do not seem to drop if I consistently eat in the higher end. Good Luck.

    Sparkpeople has my range 1250 to 1550. If I stay at the top end, I never lose. I have found if I do 1200 to 1400 I will start losing. So just play around with it and see what happens. It won't take long for you to figure it out.

    emoticon I think maybe start somewhere in the middle of the 2 ranges and experiment to see what your Body does. It will be affected by what kind of Exercise you are doing and how often.
In my Opinion, the Calorie Ranges are just a Guideline and it takes some time to really figure out what is the Best Range for YOU.

    Same thing for me. I thought someone said SP bases it on your calories burned on the fitness tracker?
