I didn't realize how long it's been since I've posted my last blog!! Things have been so hectic this last month it's crazy! The boys have been out of school for the last two weeks. Before that I was scrambling to figure out what to do with them all summer. I have them splitting the summer between two summer day camps. It's a lot of driving for me bc the first half of the summer I have to take them each to a separate camp, but the last 3 weeks of summer they will both be at the same camp, just on the other side of the town next to ours. I'm also still trying to schedule an overdue birthday party. All of my kids have birthdays around holidays, and the two youngest ones are 3 days apart. So it's really hard to schedule parties when everyone has holiday plans. Ugh!
So I'm about to start a summer body challenge in one of my Spark Teams. I'm pretty excited about that! I updated all of my goals and weights because they were outdated. I've gained a couple lbs. since my last start date, but not too much. I have an accountability buddy along with all the support from the group. I'm really hoping to have results with this challenge!
I've kind of taken this week to get myself prepared for the challenge. Not intentionally, I almost forgot it was about to start! But I was preparing myself for starting SOME kind of fitness and nutrition reboot! I had a kid free week (well, today is the last full day they'll be gone) so I've used this time to clean and organize some things. My biggest time consuming daily task is cleaning. With three boys it's like that's ALL I DO! ALL. DAY. LONG!!! So I thought if I took the time to really get the apartment clean and get rid of things the kids don't even realize they have, maybe it would be manageable and I wouldn't have to spend my entire evening until bedtime cleaning. I've cleaned my oldest son's room. And I'm not talking tidying up a bit. I mean I moved furniture, got rid of furniture, shampooed carpets, organized loose pictures into an album for him (surprise for him!) and went through his clothes to get rid of old, raggedy or things he's outgrown. I've also deep cleaned the living room(shampooed the carpets) and sorted through three huge stacks of paper stuff! Tonight is the big task of cleaning out the room shared by my two youngest boys!
I'm looking to get rid of a bunch of toys that are broken or they don't play with. Then on Friday I'll clean the kitchen and bathrooms and be done! Well, that's the plan. I hope I can get it done.
I've been feeling really down about not working out. I'm really hoping this challenge and my newly cleaned apartment will kick start a new routine. I've really been wanting to try the C25K program! But I need to take babysteps!
