As of June 1, 2013 I began using Spark People as my primary tracker. I've been on numerous diets and programs, enough to know that for me at least, serious tracking is required, indeed the foundation of success. So is monitoring, which is one reason I'm now here at SparkPeople, since it links to my FitBit pedometer automatically.
I'm also now starting to publish a separate blog (http://dieterata.blogspot.com
), more of a teaching site to share what I've learned these many years. I did this a few years ago when I first joined Weight Watchers and I found it very helpful to personally recount all that I was learning.
SparkPeople isn't perfect. The food logging has too many vague "one serving" entries, meaning I have to consult other sites several times a week to translate quantities. I weigh foods whenever possible, so I'm sure I'll be adding my own entries for Cheerios by the ounce for example. But that said, I like practically everything else about the site, so here I am, in earnest since June 1.
