Shake it up, baby!

Wednesday, June 05, 2013

Saturday, I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and bought a Nutri-bullet extractor/blender. I am trying to do 80 % raw foods. I put spinach in the bullet and fruit and blend it. This smoothie is my breakfast and lunch.

Some online Christian friends of mine, are doing the 80/20 thing of raw foods. I cook dinner for my husband and myself and eat cooked food then. I thought with irritable bowel syndrome, that I would be in the bathroom a lot because of doing this, but it hasn't affected me that way.

I went last week and had blood drawn, but my doctor never called with the results. I hope to surprise her the next time it is drawn.

We thought Pool Boys would open our pool yesterday. They said to expect them between 1-5 PM, but they didn't show up or call.

Princess got out of the yard last evening and took a run through the neighborhood and then came up on the front porch. Our son barbecued chicken and corn on the cob on the grill and didn't latch the gate properly. Princess pushed at it with her nose and it opened a bit and she was gone.

All is going better than I expected with hubby being in a cast. I certainly thank God for that.

I got chicken drumsticks and thighs for 79 cents a pound. I have been looking for sales, I cannot believe the prices in the grocery stores!

I am glad Princess came back - surprised she left with BBQ cooking!!

How many calories are in one of your drinks? Are they real sweet? Do they fill you up?

I hope you are getting some "me" time now.

Great update! Princess coming home is a good sign. She loves you and should make you less anxious next time she may get out.

Good buy on the chicken! I try to watch for sales and stock up so I did not have to pay the outrageous prices they ask for lately. My local store has raised prices by 20-30 cents per what used to cost one dollar. That is 20% -30% raise. More raise than I get!

Wow! 79 cents a pound?! Where did you find that deal? If we buy chicken it's only ever the drumsticks or thighs. Those tend to be the cheapest in MD. When my family from Iowa come to visit they always have a hard time getting over the price of food here, especially our meat and dairy. It's incredible.

Let me know how that blender works out fo ryou and if there are any recipies you really like. I have a magic bullet that I hate to admit I use very rarely anymore. I haven't been able to find the right combination to make a delicious smoothie. I'm very picky about seeds or pulp being in my drinks. It just weirds me out. Any suggestions?

good luck with the raw food 80/20. I don't fancy raw spinach, my sweet tooth would rebel!!
My new favourite snack is hummus, I didn't know I liked it.
