I met the owner of the company/store today..............lovely woman. The first interview was me, the lead accountant (woman) and her assistant. It was another very nice interview today and at the conclusion of it the woman from accounting said "well, same routine. We'll email you Friday and let you know our decision". The owner of the company immediately said "I don't think we need to wait until Friday; as far as I'm concerned you have the job. We'd love to bring you on!" I was so flattered that I was so impressive she knew I was "the one".
I must interject here and tell you that NO mention of salary/rate of pay has been made. At the first interview, they said it was "commensurate with experience". Well, I'm 53, have a very good track/work record and tons of experience. Today, even after the owner offered me the job, there was STILL no mention of money. So, I said "I don't want to sound inappropriate but we haven't discussed salary". The woman from accounting says "we'll be sending you an offer letter via email tomorrow that outlines your hours, starting date and salary". I was thinking "What the heck??" and it must have shown on my face because the owner quicly said "we really haven't come up with a number yet". What the heck?!!! Are you kidding me?? I've never come across this - ever! When you're offered a job there should be some number to offer and/or negotiate at the time of the job offer. They should have told me in the first interview so we didn't waste each others time.
I have a feeling they'll be offering me an "interns" salary. Maybe I'll be surprised but I'm not holding my breath......................ev
en though I look GREAT in blue
Thanks for all the support. I love my SP friends
