Non-scale victories

I lost a pound this week. I've been gaining and losing the same three pounds since January, so I've been concentrating on NSVs. I am compelled to share, since I've had a few in the last week or so.

1. I took measurements on Sunday, and it sounds silly, but I lost an inch in my calves! I thought my lower legs were looking thinner--the measurement proved it!

2. I FINALLY got over the 3-mile hump! This is the progress point I've been stuck at for awhile...I haven't been able to walk more than 2-3 miles without my (still healing) foot getting unhappy. Well, we walked FIVE MILES on Sunday! Average pace was 18:39/mile, which is nearly training pace (for distance). My foot only hurt briefly, and it was due to the surface we were walking on. Went back to what we were walking on most of the time, and the pain disappeared.

3. Today, I met my personal trainer at the gym. After hearing about my five-mile walk, she finally put me on the elliptical! I've been wanting to get back to the elliptical for a long time now...I am there!

So, yeah, lots of progress in the non-scale victory department. I will take it! :)

    Wow!! Sounds like you're making excellent progress. The walking is going great and you've already lost an inch off of your calves. Congratulations.
