On SparkCoach, the advice for the "consistency" track was to plan out tomorrow's meals the evening before and to use the blog today to do this. I am such a type A, so I have to do this. Mind you since it's just me and my husband we have a pretty set routine.
Breakfast: oatmeal or eggs.
Lunch: we each make our own. I usually make a salad with left over meat from suppers, he usually makes a sandwich.
Dinner: we share this assignment: it usually consists of meat/protein, vegetables (he won't eat zucchini or broccoli so I get all of that for myself) and we split a baked sweet potato or have butternut squash. Sometimes he makes his great chilli, or spaghetti sauce, or chicken parmesean (umm) I usually check out Spark recipes for how to cook the planned meat (usually chicken, but sometimes the fish he has caught)
Snacks: We both like yogurt, I have plain greek yogurt with fruit, he like Dannon Lite. We usually have an afternoon snack of wasa crisps with hummus and a glass of wine. There's always fruit in the fridge, and he loves fig newton cookies, pretzels and lemon sherbet. I got a Ninja blender for Christmas and love to make a fruit smoothie for dessert after dinner. When we're being bad we like tortilla chips with salsa.
I know we sound REALLY BORING, but it's just a habit we've fallen into. We do go out to eat once in a while, usually an Italian Restaurant. I work on portion control, but have the things I really enjoy. The biggest challenge for us is that we go on lots of vacations. While we don't tend to go hog wild, we do eat differently because we get out of our routine.
Now that I've reread this, I'm feeling like I need to shake things up a bit. Oh well, we leave tomorrow to join my sister in Oqunquit, Maine for two nights. That'll break up our hum drum habits.
