My grandson officially graduated from KINDERGARTEN today. emoticon Besides his diploma he was presented with 2 awards. BEST EFFORT and PRINCIPAL'S AWARD for consistently demonstrating excellent behavior. emoticon DH and I are so proud of him!!!!

The ceremony was awesome. The children did wonderfully and the songs they sang were really sweet. Afterward parents, grandparents and other family and friend went back to the classrooms for cookies and juice, to see various artwork that the children had done and to hear presentations from a few of the students. My grandson stood up in front of everyone and read a piece he wrote on what he wanted to be when he grows up. "A CAR ENGINEER SO THAT HE GETS TO GO UNDER CARS." emoticon I am not sure what happened to Fireman? Perhaps he put that ambition on the back burner for the moment. Nevertheless we all had a great time. I even received a personal thank you from his two teachers in appreciation for the treats I have sent in throughout the year. This was an unexpected but very much appreciated!

Sallie - I am just sure the teachers really loved having you and your caring, loving 'treats' as part of their school year. As you well know, being a teacher yourself, those little added things for the little ones make things fun and go a long way. And inside, your grandson feels extra loved and special that it is his Memaw who provides such lovely treats to his classmates. Anyway, I am glad they gave you a personal thank you for all your hard work!!

Lastly, I want to say that I am sure that all you and your DH do for him contributed your grandson's excellence. This is one LOVED boy, and that shines through!

Fantastic!!! We had two grandsons in kindergarten this past year, I was so hoping that each of their schools would do some sort of graduation program... neither did/does!!! :) (I'm used to my school, where the little ones graduate with caps and gowns..)
Your grandson is as cute as can be.... what a blessing these little guys/girls bring to our lives!
