For the last few years, a few friends have encouraged me to create my own blog. Since I recently re-joined SparkPeople, I thought this would be a good time to begin my online journal journey. I still prefer the paper and pen method, but I also like the idea of receiving supportive feedback along the way. Thank you for your blogs, your message board posts, and your encouragement! I continue to read many success stories and benefit from them, especially those who start each day with gratitude and a positive attitude.
So, how many of you exercise with your spouse or your significant other? Well, I had the joy of participating in my first OUTDOOR yoga class last Saturday...with my husband! A friend of mine invited me to attend a free yoga class in the park, and I accepted. I asked my husband if he would like to join us, and, to my surprise, he said 'YES!' On the day of the class, my friend was ill and couldn't be there, but my husband, God love him, stood by my side every step of the way. I think I was more proud of him than of me! He was the only husband there!!
If you haven't tried yoga outdoors, I highly recommend it. Mine was an early morning class, so the temperature was cool and the birds serenaded us throughout every move. It was such a peaceful way to begin the day. Even my husband commented on how good he felt afterwards. It was challenging too! Sweaty, but cathartic. All the pentup stress of the week drifted away with the breeze.
Today I plan to setup my new pocket pedometer for my walking breaks at work. I have a new Omron Walking Style pedometer. Highly recommended by my 67 year old dad! :)
