Being out of school for the summer is a new challenge for me. Last summer I had high hopes for myself and didn't quite follow through. I lost less than 5 pounds the entire summer. There is no excuse for that!
I get tons of exercise. I am a very active person. I hate sitting still! Between working as a waitress, gardening, running/gym, and deep cleaning the entire apartment from top to bottom, front to back, I will get plenty of activity in this summer.
I fall apart with the eating, though. I do great all day at school. I have no choice! I refuse to eat in front of my students (unless it's a class treat and they have some, too). I only bring healthy snacks, like fruit. When I am within the confines of my own home, I fall apart. I live alone, so I have no one keeping me accountable, except myself. I owe it to myself to get myself under control!
I have created a snack plan for myself. My only goal right now is sticking to that plan. In the midmorning, I can have fruit or vegetables for a snack. Midafternoon I can have a 1-2 point protein snack (cheese stick, Weight Watchers snacks, etc.). In the evening I can have a 2-3 point sweet snack. I have been working on this for the past month or so and it has been going great (and the weight has been falling off). It's a personal test to see if I can do it while home all day (and not under surveillance by 16 pairs of eyes).
