Yesterday morning, we headed out for our second 5K. This one was held at Valley Vineyards, a local winery, in conjunction with their festival, and was a charity for the local police.
First, we were led through the woods for about .5 miles. We crossed a creek or two, traversed some mud, and then we arrived at the grapes where we would run.
We ran through the grapes, following some flags and markings.
At the half way point, hubby had arranged a special refreshment, lol.
I also drank a bottle of water, of course.
Then back to running.
The scenery was very nice, and most people do not get to go through the vineyard.
This was a very relaxed '5k', it was actually only about 1.5 miles in the vineyard. But it was fun to be there, and chat with the others. I took a long break at the halfway point, so time numbers mean nothing.
This was for me the first time to run on grass, as opposed to concrete or asphalt. So that was an interesting challenge. I did notice that my moving average was 4.7 mph, which I thought was pretty good for a terrain area.
