I went to my dietician the other day. I have lost 10 lbs. since march. She was very happy, as am I. I have decided on a way to set my goals. At work I process requests for Bariatric Surgery for the State of Washington. One of the things people have to do before they can actually have the surgery is to loose 5% of their body weight and keep it off until they have their surgery. They have one year to loose the weight and also go thru a number of other counseling and testing. I have decided that is how I am going to set up my short term goals. However I am not going to give my self so long to loose it. I figured out how many pounds to loose for the first 5% (that actually figures out to about 10 - 25 lbs. depending on the original weight of the person. ) So 230 * 5%= 12. so 230 - 12 = 218. I now weight 220 so I have two more lbs. to go and I can set a new goal.
slow but sure. make sure the new habit sticks!
