First off I am hoping this blog uploads as I have had great difficulty with this the past several days.
The nutritionist canceled the appointment I had scheduled with her this week and reset it for the 1st of July. Now I must wait until then to weigh in which will take an act of God to keep me away from the home scale but I will try!
In other news, DH and I are so tired! We've been cleaning, sanding and staining cabinets and floor to ceiling shelving all day. They look so good though and worth the hard work! Can't wait to tackle the rest!
Tomorrow we are headed to church in the am for the grandson's Soccer Awards Banquet along with the daughter, Dan, her ex, his wife and parents. Should be fun! Super proud of the grandson and the whole Cobra team. They ended the season UNDEFEATED!!
Monday, our grandson graduates from Kindergarten.
Can't believe how fast this school year has flown by. He can slow down anytime now.
It's been such a big year for the little man and the next will be bigger still with First Grade and all it has to offer, in addition to the baby brother he will meet for the first time come Fall.
In anticipation of the class party that will follow graduation Monday, I made up some treats for him to give out to his classmates and teachers. A simple, fast and inexpensive way to help kick off Summer vacation! Just 30 minutes and under $10 for 30 of them.
I also found a really cute idea on PINTEREST that I decided to begin for the grandson as well. I bought the book "Oh, the Places You'll Go" by Dr., Seuss. I printed out an instructional poem, lamented it and attached it to the front of the book with ribbon. At the end of every school year from now until his HS graduation, his teachers and other educators (PE, Art, Drama, Club, Coaches, etc) will be asked to write a special note, memory, song, poem or other encouragement in the book. There is also room designated for Family and Friends to give their words of wisdom, a place for pictures, memorabilia and a special section for his own thoughts, dreams and visions of the future. I talked it over with the daughter and she was is very happy with this idea. I hope come graduation years down the road my grandson will appreciate the thought behind the gift as well.
Hope everybody is having a great weekend! Wishing all my fellow Sparkies a safe, fun and Sparktacular SUMMER!!
