A couple Garden Photo's

Saturday, June 01, 2013

My husband and I always take Memorial week off in hopes of getting some yard work done. For me I always hope I can plant in my gardens or at least weed them. One of my back yards gardens has an Azalea that was not looking so good at the beginning of spring. My sons decided to buy me a new one for Mother's Day and I thought I would be replacing the old one. However the old one blossomed and I didn't have the heart to give up on it yet. So we needed a new place for the new Azalea. We had this little patch of grass between the front sidewalks that I had a vision of making over. I told the vision to my husband and he made it a reality, with the Azalea in the middle. Here is a a couple of photo's of the area now.

I just love my bike too!

Another vision I had a few years back was another Mother's day gift from the men in my life. We had the boat it was an old one of my son's, but it needed a paint job and some dirt. I have had tried different plants because some don't make it past the animals we have. I am getting more and more success with each passing year. Here is this years project so far.

I have a couple more areas to fill in and then it will be complete for the year. I hope you enjoy my visions!

I did, indeed, enjoy your "visions"!

The boat idea is super & the Azalea brought back memories of the years we lived in Central Florida & the beautiful Azalea's the Lord blessed us with there.

I, too, have a precious & much beloved husband (I call him "my cherished MrV" here at SP), who, like your DH, is great at making my visions come to life. He loves gardening & our yards are show pieces of the neighborhood. We are forever getting compliments on the results of his hard work, don't you know?

God bless!

How fun, I love gardening. It's so enjoyable to be outside within nature. I love to watch how something grows and changes at the work of our own hands. Very nice.

It is just your visions, you have quite eye. Thanks for sharing your pictures. I love looking at other gardens....sometimes I even get an idea or two.
I know what you mean about some plants not looking too good. DH always wants everything to be blooming when we have a family party in June. Although our gardens are really looking good, my roses are just barely greening up. I do have two that I know are not dead just not progressing....we had some work done in the yard last fall (had a small wall put up all around the perimeter) so all the existing plants had to be up rooted to raise them up about 7 inches.....lost a daisy plant and a garden phlox and have since replaced them. I refuse to give up on those two rose bushes. If they don't bloom this year I will see how they are next spring. DH disagrees, but I think I will win out on this one. Have a great weekend. So far so good here. emoticon

I love the boat! We had a boat like that when I was little. My father turned it into a sandbox for my brothers and I! I like your idea! How cute!
