Excuses

Saturday, June 01, 2013

Everyone has an excuse when it comes to why they don't exercise. My favorite is I'm to tired or I'll do it later and it never happens. What I've learned is I just have to do it anyway tired or not. Later never comes so do it now. It's as simple as that. If I want to feel great, strengthen my body, lose weight and be healthy I just have to do it...no excuses! It's all up to me and no one else. Enough said - so all of you what do you think? What are your excuses? What gets you going? emoticon emoticon

Mine is its to late to workout. That excuse is getting harder since it is almost summer.

and what gets me going is the Nap approach not an option.

Oh boy, I hear you! The past 2 mornings I did NOT feel like exercising...sheesh I even shut off my alarm! LOL! (but i went both times) This morning I thought I'd "delay" my exercise (ya right!) but I told myself, "its just 25/30 minutes of your day. Then you can relax (from exercise) the rest of teh day! That helped. And even though I wasn't pumped to go, once the music was on and I was outside, I was OK :)

One thing I've discovered is that people have so many excuses for not getting out and exercising. When it comes right down to it.....people just don't want to do it. They have time to take a nap but not exercise. They have time to eat on the couch but no time to exercise. They have time to sit for hours to watch their favorite show but don't have 15 minutes to exercise. They have time to sit on the Internet for hours but no time to exercise.....It goes on and on. I commit to one hour minimum each day to do some form of exercise. You can't tell me people can't find time, they simply just don't want to do it.

My excuses are the same, as are my motivators. I always tell myself during a particularly hard workout that "No one ever said this would be easy" and " If you can get through this now, think what you can get through later".
My issue with motivation isn't so much with exercise as it is with food. I have such a hard time holding myself back from over eating when I'm at work. Because there's so much free food there!
