Eating After Supper

Well, I promised myself I'd blog today so here I am.

About not eating after supper. I don't think this is something I would be able to do so I guess the next best thing would be to plan a couple of healthy snacks and fit them into my calorie count for the day.

So instead of driving myself crazy with starvation and denial, I think I will just try for the above solution.

Studies show that it doesn't matter when you eat the food, it's the total calorie count that matters.

What is your favorite healthy snack?

    If I am really hungry after dinner I have popcorn, for a low calorie snack and ice water.

    Occasionally, I eat a bit of greek yogurt in the evening, sometimes with some fresh fruit. It helps when my protein intake is too low.

    Planning your snacks will set you up for success. I'm getting better at not snacking but sometimes you just gotta. emoticon I like cold leftovers from my dinner and often pick at those.

    I measure out 1/2 cups of frosted chocolate mini wheats and put them in snack size baggies. It is 100 calories for 1/2 c and 45% of daily iron requirement. Sweet and healthy.

    100 calorie microwave popcorn. It gives me a lot of hand to mouth action which makes it very satisfying.

    I have a planned snack as well

I tied to make it a fresh fruit most of the time, but have been told a protein snack would be better, like low fat cheese, skim milk, low fat will help us feel full longer.....

    Fruit, yoghurt, though after supper I like a small dish of cornflakes to ward off hunger pangs yet does not upset digestion at night. Ree

  tomatoes and cucumbers and chocolate but not together are my favorites.
