Being Strong is Knowing When to Ask for Help

Friday, May 31, 2013

"Masters dictate their destiny by accepting full responsibility for everything action they take and every result they realize."
--Steve Siebold

It is time for change! I have worked on my own and made some progress. The time has come for me to get more help. I have come to realize that I need a coach, teacher. I have tried doing this on my own and have laid a wonderful foundation.

Having a coach in not a sign of weakness. My thoughts of I should be able to do this on my own are a bit off. Having a coach helps with direction. Having the proper coach ensures progress.

It is like taking a class. Your instructor is your coach. Admitting I need assistance is a biggie for me. (think: "I am woman, I am strong" mindset)

Having guidance will free me. Not saying that there won't be hard work, there will.

Now comes the tough part.
What type of coach?
Where to find that coach?

I am willing to put in the time and effort. Changes need to be made. Time to invest in myself.

You have some great references in these responses! I think 1Crazydog has some very good thoughts for you.

I agree that you really need to get the right coach for whatever you goal is.

Let us know how this works out. I had a fitness coach at the gym but I really didn't get much satisfaction from her. She showed me some techniques and new exercises but she didn't really build a fire in me.

Find a coach that builds a fire!!

    Take care.

I liked Sparkcoach! It was really reasonable and was another level of accountability. YES, much of it I knew, but ... nonetheless, it kept me focused. I was paying for it so I went through it every day. If that doesn't appeal, I agree with 1CrazyDog. Maybe an in-person coach would be most beneficial.

I so agree with you. I've seen clients going through yucky legal messes where they're emotionally overwhelmed make huge progress with focused coaches . . . often in a very short time at a very reasonable cost. There are people here at Spark offering coaching services on line . . . wonder if that would appeal? You might want to check out SERENE_ME's spark page . . .

Wonderful idea. You have come a long way, with tremendous changes and progress. Now you're just raising the level further.

When you can admit whatever it is you need, that is stepping up to the plate and being an adult and mature about any situation! Invest in yourself as it's only one YOU! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

What is it specifically that you are seeking guidance for? If it's organizational strategies for your life, then I'd suggest a Life Coach. If it's nutrition coaching to learn about how to modify your nutrition to more suit your needs, then a Nutritionist or Dietitian would be a great place to start. Exercise? Perhaps a personal trainer who can help guide you to fashioning a work out routine that fits in with your life and that you can accomplish.

Cost? Really don't have any idea as it varies from place to place, but maybe try looking it up on the internet.

HUGS and wishing you EVERY success in your mission to find the guidance you seek. It is indeed a sign of STRENGTH in everh sense of the word to reach out for help when you recognize the need.
