NO OTHERS GODS

Sometimes simplicity is overlooked because the concept is so simple. Sometimes people want to make a simple thing complicated. Sometimes we over think simple things, make excuses why we don’t do them or simply ignore them. But there is one simple thing, one simple concept that can change our lives that we don’t want to miss. There is nothing to add to it, no excuse for not doing it and should never be ignored. And that is simply this:

Exodus 20:3 “You must not have any other god but me.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, You have said it plainly. You have said it simply. You have put not if’s or but’s in there. You tell us to serve only You. We are to have no other gods but You. Show us today where we are making excuses, where we are disobeying and where we are ignoring Your simple command. Help us turn away from other gods and turn completely and totally to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Amen.

God is so good that He sent His only Son to die for us. And we should put no other gods before Him.

God is so great that He created the heavens and the earth. And we should put no other gods before Him.

God is so magnificent that He created you and me. And we should put no other gods before Him.

God is so merciful that He offers us eternal life through the death of His son. And we should put no other gods before Him.

God is so giving that He gives to us a beautiful canvas of His creations to take in. And we should put no other gods before Him.

God is so loving that His love has no boundaries, no motives, no limits. And we should put no other gods before Him.

God is love so we can replace the word love in this scripture and know our God is all these things!

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance” (NLT)
