Accentuate the Positive

Thursday, May 30, 2013

So, I had a great workout day...not so great food day. But in order to get back on track, you have to forgive yourself for your weakness, learn something from it, and get back on track.

1. Identify what went wrong. For me today, it came in the form of Cinnamon Creme Cake from Corner Bakery Cafe emoticon and potato salad.

2. Learn from it. By tracking my food, I can see that those two items equaled the amount I went over my calories for the day. I knew I should not eat them, but seeing it in black and white gives me additional confirmation.

3. Accentuate the positive. I had a good breakfast, morning snack, and lunch. I worked out hard with my trainer, and I relaxed with a massage. All good things!

So, in the words of the wonderful Scarlett O'Hara, tomorrow is another day. I will pick myself up, dust myself off, and march on.
