Birthday Wishes

Today is my 29th birthday. I signed up yesterday on SparkPeople and am glad that I did.

I want to be healthy in my 30s and now I have one year to get there. I am currently at the highest weight I've ever been, 198 lbs. I always start programs but I never finish them. I always start diets but I never finish them. I always start with good intentions of being healthy but I never follow through. Do you see a pattern developing here? I can't pin point why I always start and never finish. Maybe I lack real motivation or accountability. Maybe I have no drive. Maybe I'm just lazy and don't really care. Who knows? I sure as heck don't. I know what I need to do to lose the weight and get healthy. I have no idea why I don't just do it and stick to it. And commit to making lifestyle changes.

Well, this year is going to be different. On May 30, 2014, I want to be at least halfway to my goal weight. If not further along in my journey. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. And I am going to use this site as an accountability tool to stick to something for once in my life.

So, my birthday gift to myself is to commit to a lifestyle change, to get healthy, and to reach a healthy weight.

    Thank you for the comment! Yes, I think it's a great resolution to make for myself, too. I just need to remind myself everyday that I need to keep going and pushing myself to achieve my goals. I've seen so many people succeed with SparkPeople, I want to do the same!

I think the important point is you don't give up and keep on pushing ahead in the face of slip ups. The journey will have its ups and downs. It will not be easy but it is not impossible. Others can do it and so can YOU!!!
