Tabata reminder

I was reminded today about Tabata training.

A form of high-intensity interval training, you exercise flat-out for 20 seconds, followed by 10 seconds of rest, and then repeat that 7 more times... 4 minutes total.

Fat-burning miracle workout, etc.


It only burns about 50+ calories, but it doubles your metabolic rate for 30+ minutes afterwards.

Article I read suggested squat jumps, sprint cycling, box jumps, stair running, and sprinting as possible exercises. My kettlebell instructor used to have us do it with KB exercises.

  I learned about "Tabata" drills last fall. It's not easy. I understand that if you've plateaued or your workout is in a rut it's suppose to be great to give your program a boost.
