A quick start to the Fast diet

Thursday, May 30, 2013

For the past 4 days we've had friends to stay and have done plenty of eating and drinking during that time, culminating with a fantastic Greek meze in a Brighton restaurant. However, we have also been for several long walks and I hadn't felt I'd been overeating on the whole.
But the scales said differently - 7 lbs, thats 3kg gained in just 4 days!! Whoa, that seems so unjust to me. But there we are. So today I am having a 500 calorie 'Fast Day'. I'm hoping that those extra pounds will slide off overnight and I'll be back on track very soon. I have my favourite dress (that I can't get into) hanging up to remind me what I'm aiming for. This is far more immediate and compelling than health issues.
Now I'm off for a swim and maybe a cycle or walk. And the wine has to stay in the bottle...

Thanks for you kind comments! I did the fast day - and it was ok! I think I'll be able to stick to this 5 days eating 2 fasting regime, as long as temptation keeps away... Best news is that all that 7 pounds came off, so I'm back where I should be:)

Isn't it amazing that that can happen so quickly (gaining like that)? We work for weeks and than our bodies turn on us. The best to you as you get back on track.

Oh boy! I know how that goes! That surprise jump on the scale is never fun. I agree, though, that sometimes fitting into our clothes is way more compelling incentive than those ever elusive and vague "health issues" that can seem far away. Good luck, and happy fasting!
