As most of you know Colin has been extremely ill over the last few months.
He is out of hospital and I am taking care of him at home.
We have extra help in the house and new aids for Colin so that he can undress and dress himself and get into and out of bed.
Unfortunately, the stress of all the pain he is in, has excelerated the dementia.
He is really quite dependant on me now .
He will never be out of pain and we will have to manage it with meds.
Colin spleen has been distended because of his blood disorder Polythiceamea Rubra Vera .
He has been suffering this condition for many years and his spleen is massive.
There is nothing that can be done as he is too weak to survive a Operation.
Eventually his Spleen will burst and he will pass over.
We are prepared for this,as the doctors have advised us that it is likely it will happen sooner rather than later.
We both want to thank you all, for all the wonderful support and loving messages of encouragement and hope.
I am lucky to have had this amazing man as my husband for so long ..
When we first met, Colin was a widower and was bringing up three daughters .. I had been widowed and had two sons and two daughters one of which was only 4 years old ..I was 34 and he was 47 years old.
We made a lovely life together and although we have had our ups and downs (as most families do).
We were, and still are, extremely happy.
We have our girls living close by,and the nurse from our medical practice will be calling in if needed.
Neither of us want Colin to go into care, and so we have everything all set up here at home.
Again thank you all so very much .. Love to you all .. Colin and Susie.
