Another year has gone by

Wednesday, May 29, 2013

This week marked three years since I found SP and started my journey to a healthier lifestyle. I had lost 50 lbs., put 10 back on and now have a total weight loss of 52.5 lbs. My goal now is to toss a total of 58-60 lbs. to the curb....that's my way of saying losing the weight and not finding it again.
This journey still amazes me. Learning how to eat and exercise so I don't feel like I'm on a diet or burning myself out with exercises that I just don't like to do. I'm happy with my progress. I still have ups and downs, like everyone else, but I'm learning how to cope without using food as my comfort zone. I love using portion control and tracking my food. I plan my menu in the morning so I know just what I can or cannot have through out the day. Of course there is always wiggle room. None of my menus are set in stone, but my determination to stay healthy is. I live by the rule "one day at a time".....if I had a bad day I let it go before I fall asleep and start again the next day.
Life is good and I have many dear Spark friends to thank for that....I start and sometimes end my day with you.
Let's continue this journey together: we are all on different roads, but we are all moving forward.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great night....HUGS!
By the way if you haven't tried one of the cauliflower crust pizza recipes on SP....you need to. It's a little puttsey, but so worth it.

A job well done. I hope to get myself together again after seeing the doctor on Monday. I start the day off with good vibes but lose it later in the day. DH doesn't help the matter but then I can't blame him for my lack of control.

Yikes, Barb - my sp feed let me down - I didn't see this! CONGRATULATIONS on your amazing loss so far and your focus on the next 58-60. Let's KICK IT TO THE CURB!

I'll have to check out the cauliflower crusts, too - I don't do wheat or gluten so I'm always looking for a pizza substitute!

HAPPY Friday! emoticon

Barb, you sound so "up," so "positive." You have done an amazing job on your journey. You never gave up, just took a little detour for a while and now you are back on the road and going full force once again. I love you attitude! I am still here, still fighting, not gaining but not losing either. You have never given up on yourself or on me and for that I thank you. I am determined to move forward and with dear friends like you, how can I lose? So today, I am going to fight harder, plan my meals for the day and start moving in the right direction, right along side of you. Have a wonderful day, my friend. ((HUGS))

I am so glad i found you on SP. You have been such and encouragement to me. Keep up the good work.

I am still looking for exercises that don't feel like exercising. I hate doing it.

Your story is quite inspiring to me! I am pushing two years here and have had ups and downs as well, with a strong desire to face down the oldest and most concentrated of the old bad habits to lose more weight, get closer to goal. Thanks for sharing!

Barb- you are doing so awesome! That is great that you have managed to lose 52.5 lbs. Try to pick that amount up and carry it around. I am pretty sure you will be putting it down within a couple of minutes. And then jump up and down with joy that you have left that much behind for the rest of your life! What an awesome feeling.
My one year on SP is coming up and I cant believe how good I feel, how much I love to exercise, how great my clothes fit me and most importantly of all, the wonderful people that I have met along this journey. You are such an important part of my journey and I am so glad to have met you along the way. We will continue down our paths indeed and enjoy each day that we are given. It is such an awesome place to be!
Congrats on your journey thus far and best of luck on losing those last few pounds and lets keep kicking those legs in the air as we jump for joy!~
Hugs to you! Holly emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
