The days fly by and make me wonder how I accomplished so much while working. I am truly enjoying the flexibility of retirement and following my own path in how I spend my time.
By looking around me, it's obvious that I enjoy working outside more than inside. My yard and gardens are all looking fine. I love the freshness of spring with everything green and growing. Even though I'm responsible for what is here - I am pleasantly surprised to see the succession of blooms. Am looking forward to tending pots of flowers which were impossible when I wasn't here much of the summer. Puppy has adjusted well to watching me mow from the elevated deck or following me around the yard on his long cable attached to the wheelbarrow.
All of the above is quite a contrast to the interior of my house with a vacuum gathering dust; windows you can barely see through; piles of detritus from my teaching career and just a whole lot of miscellaneous stuff. All still waiting for their turn on my non-existent "to do" list.
And here's the best part - to borrow from GWTW - "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a ****"
