My Journey #41 -- Update - 5/28/13 -- New Outlook

Tuesday, May 28, 2013

It's been several months since I added a blog to my series so thought I'd update youall. I still have not lost any of the weight I gained this past year and my health problems continue to plague me. During the spring challenge I was unable to participate on the Lemon Team (BLC) which I had been a member of for sometime because I was unable to keep up with the requirements.

Thankfully, I still had my other teams which continue to encourage me along the way, especially the STOP team, Wildflower's Live-It, One-der-Land Wannabies, Daily Weigh-In and several others. Thank you to those folks who have continued to encourage and support me along the way.

Regarding the Biggest Loser summer challenge, I opted to go on a different team and have been warmly welcomed by the Dazzling Diamonds. I really did good last year on a BLC team I was on so am really looking forward to making progress with the Diamonds. I just hope they will be understanding of my health issues and that I cannot/nor am able to do many of the physical activities that we may be asked to do.

Right now, F.Y.I., I have severe spinal stenosis (doctor's words, not mine) and because of this, I have horrific sciatica pain that shoots down both my legs like a bolt of lightening. I have had a number of spinal epidural shots in my spinal canal this year, but they have done nothing to relieve the pain. Right now I'm considering a new procedure where a wire is run down the length of your spine and the doctor said to think of it as a "pacemaker" for your back. We'll see.

Just want to wish all my Spark friends a happy and wonderful summer with the wish that you all accomplish your summer goals and challenges. See you at the scales!

I hope you find relief for your pain. I'm so glad you aren't giving up. I know how easy it is to just say you're in pain and not do anything. emoticon

So happy you are persevering regardless of circumstances. I see you have some great support from your Diamond team members Praise The Lord! I've never been brave enough to actually participate in BLC although I read through the teams once. Maybe one day I might. Sounds like it helps a lot of people meet goals. I've had two ruptured disk that created sciatic pain in my legs...never had back pain when I had them and had surgery both times. Pain went immediately. I know what kind of pain you are talking about. I rather have five babies then that pain. I'm still always praying for you. I keep hope alive for you because ALL things ARE possible with God!
    Many Blessings In Your Challenge!
    Love & Blessings!

Spinal stenosis can be a serious impediment, my father had it and was in constant pain and soon was having difficulty walking. He finally opted for surgery and was fortunate enough to have immediate relief and improvement. I hope whatever you choose it will bring you some relief!!

Hope you find the help you need!
