My weight loss journey has been an adventure

Monday, May 27, 2013

I began a few years ago wanting to lose weight for my son's graduation from college. I was over weight and did not look good in pictures. I was going to join a gym and change my diet. I did that after losing my job and going to the unemployment office. I worked out at the gym and I walked my little dog. As I looked for a new job I began to lose weight very slowly. I also realized my Mom needed me to care for her. My new job became taking care of my Mom. I went for my annual physical and my doctor told me I had an under active thyroid. I was put on Medication for this condition and then I lost more weight than ever. I am feeling better and happier with my life now that I have reached my goal. You may think that is it but think again now I am a maintainer and active on the site trying to encourage others. I am also maintaining and part of that is being accountable to myself. Best wishes, Linda from bean town

Wow, I've been on thyroid meds for years and they've had the opposite affect on me. I'm so happy to hear they are working for you!

Yep, if we do what we know we need to do, it all works out in the end, better than anything we could have imagined! Too bad we all couldn't have believed this when we were 18.
