Thought and Prayer for Monday, May 27, 2013

When we are searching for something to help us, when we are looking for someone to make us feel better, when we are seeking that peace which gives us a feeling of contentment, grace is all we need. God’s grace can’t be bought. God’s grace can’t be bargained for. God’s grace can’t be found in another person or in anything of the world. God’s grace is a free, undeserved gift from God that can break the bondage of sin which keeps us from doing His will. When we are weak, God’s grace makes us strong.

2 Corinthians 12:9 “Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” (NLT)

Romans 5:21 “So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we thank You for Your grace. We thank You for Your free gift to us that will keep us from sin. Help us today to embrace what You freely give us and know that we can turn away from the things of the world which distract us. Show us what Your will is for us and how to live for only You. We thank You for the peace and contentment only You can give. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God’s grace is all we need.

Live in sin or bask in the grace of God. What do you choose?

There is nothing required for us to do to obtain God’s grace except to simply accept it.

The correct way to accept a gift is to take it, be grateful for it and use it. Accept God’s gift of grace today.

When we realize we can break from the sin in the world with God’s help, we can begin to live in the freedom of His grace.

Romans 6:14 “Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.” (NLT)

I lost mental focus and forgot about grace several times over the long weekend. it is amazing how much better and more relaxed i feel when i am aware of grace and worrying about loving others instead of focusing on what is wrong with them..
