I exercise and eat right and sometimes I go months and even over a year at a time without losing weight. Sometimes it goes up and down 20 pounds or so, but that is not the end, it is just the process of natural weight loss happening. Your body takes adjustment periods of however long it wants to take. Our job is to figure out if it's anything we are doing or if it's just time to weather the storm.
Are you drinking water?
Eating fresh fruits and vegetables?
Trying more natural and less processed foods?
Changing up your exercise?
Doing what you CAN and forgetting about what you can't?
Those are the things I try. I also break a bad binge cycle with a day of protein, fruits, vegetables, and water. The fruit sugars help satisfy the need for sweet and sugar. they also are fantastic in smoothies! See recipe below
Slow weight loss has allowed me to have treats when I want them, stress A LOT less about food and exercise, participate in social eating situations where there is no "Clean food," have fun learning and trying new things, and build my stamina for sticking to this new lifestyle. I decided this time around (8 years back when I started) that I would be happy as long as the scale moved in the right direction and I wouldn't care by how much. That's how miserable I truly was at 460 pounds, anything was better than nothing. That philosophy has kept me going.
My mantra is "Lose, maintain, just don't gain." ~Beth Donovan
Tweaking always works better than overhauling for me. Try it for your next stubborn cycle. Tweak your eating in different ways like adding more fruits, veggies, water, protein, whole grains. (The more of that stuff you eat the less room you have for junk.) Tweak your movement by adding something different or by adding anything at all.
My simple smoothie recipe:
1 c juice
1.5 c frozen fruit
Fresh fruit or veggies
Yogurt or protein powder/drink if desired
