Wow. Some days/weeks/months you're off, and can't seem to get motivated to "buckle down" in terms of diet and exercise, and just end up cruising along... not that maintaining is bad, but it's just that, maintaining... and some weeks you are just ON FIRE!
This is one of those weeks. I had some dental surgery on Tuesday (a dental implant) which meant I was on squishy foods for a number of days. Lots of yogurt, lots of smoothies, lots of scrambled eggs with well-sauteed veggies, and no - I did not use it as an excuse to eat gallons of ice cream. A number of years ago, I would have. (In fact I remember sending my dad out to buy gelato when I had my wisdom teeth out!) Because I had to be so careful about planning ahead and ensuring I had enough squishy foods to get me through the day, it forced me to start meal planning. I'm back to tracking and even pre-tracking the night before. (Okay, except for the weekends, but I'm doing just fine with those!)
Also, after joining that silly earndit website, I've been wearing my BodyMedia armband again most of the time. I skipped Friday (short sleeves and a skirt doesn't leave anywhere to hide it, and I don't like explaining what it is and why I'm wearing a calorie tracker to everybody at work) but have worn it for four days or so. I am actually going out of my way to get extra exercise, which is brilliant! I feel like I really have to, to keep up with Rachele! If anybody else is on that website, I'd be glad to follow them... let me know.
So there we have it. I'm blasting ahead and feeling like I'm making a difference. I came down a pound and then back up one, but maybe that'll fall off again tomorrow morning. The calorie deficit sure thinks it ought to... but again, I'm not 100% sure I trust this BodyMedia armband's accuracy. I wore my skinny jeans for most of yesterday and this morning (pre-garden-clothes), and while they were tight, I didn't burst any seams. Hopefully they'll be a little more comfortable as days go on.
Because the days are going on! And they're going well!
How about you, my lovelies? Where are my chickens?
