Veggies and Fruit

Sunday, May 26, 2013

I woke up in a lot of pain this morning. I over did it yesterday in my yard and garden. I had spent all day out there. I managed to drag myself out of bed. Later that day hubbie and I made a trip to the Flea Market to buy much needed veggies and fruits. I love going there. Most things are picked straight from the field and sold. Good buys, too. We loaded up with squash, zucchini, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, grapes, oranges, plums, red bell peppers, and sweet potatoes. We also made a stop at Aldi's. That store had strawberries for 99 cents a pound. We bought 4 of them. We bought banana and carrots, too. I packaged each thing in those veggie/fruit saver bags. Our frig is stuff with healthy veggies and fruits again. Yea! I can't wait until all our garden starts coming in for harvest. I think I may have a tomato sandwich for a snack. I use Nature's Own double fiber bread with low calorie may and a thick slice or two of tomato. I sprinkle a little No Salt Original on it. Mmmmmmmmmmm! What a treat. Oh on the plus side of exercise, I got a great walk in today. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks so much for your kind words on my blog. I was away from Spark People, too. I had so much pain and it was just really difficult to do anything. I've been stuck, basically. I'm doing better, finally. It's been three years like this.

I'm sorry to hear of your pain. It's hard to deal with every day, day in and out. I am hoping that the weight loss will help a bit, at least, with mine.

Take care of you. (((hugs)))

We stocked up on fresh vegetables yesterday, too, but it is too soon for farm fresh by us. Not until late June or early July up here.

When the tomatoes were ripe my mother would spread mayonnaise on two slices of bread and carry it and a knife to the picnic table she kept beside the garden to make her tomato sandwiches. My grandmother would start the water to boil before she went out to pick the corn for supper. Talk about fresh food! Enjoy your bounty!
