Happy Memorial Day weekend, SparkFriends! It's a happy summery holiday, but I don't forget why we have it...I have friends who know those who have died in service.
I'm really happy that I can relax a bit. I pushed hard last week to get as much as I could done research-wise since Thursday was the last meeting with my advisor before he leaves for 2 weeks. We had an ok meeting and then I gave myself a little break (which is still continuing through today)!
Despite how busy I was, I am glad to report that I actually dealt with everything pretty well. I'll detail some things in my "staying positive" exercise. I feel really positive about this week in general!
+ I only binged once the entire week.
+ This week I felt like I had a lot of good social interactions. On Thursday evening I met up with a friend I haven't had a chance to catch up with in a while, and she suggested a restaurant to me that I ended up really liking. On Friday I ended up chatting a bit with some people at work - usually I only talk to my mentor and am too shy to interact with the other guys. On Saturday I finally made it to this running shop that I got a gift card to when I won my age group in a race back in October, and talked a lot with the owner who was really friendly (he knows my friend who put on the race). I also chatted with an animal trainer at the zoo about my favorite animal, which is a honey badger.
+ On the activities front, I am really happy that I had a very fun, full week. I ran a few times, went to yoga almost every day, climbed on Friday and went surfing this morning!
+ I came home to my parents' place today and the family is having a Memorial Day get-together. There will be a lot of good food. I feel fairly confident that I won't binge.
