Day One

Well after spending a good day devoted to learning all about this site, I am ready to get started. As I sit here I am worried about a number of health issues. I am only 40 years old. Over the last several months I have been to the doctor more than I have in my whole life. I was walking 6 miles a day 3 times a week and 3 miles a day the other 4 days a week just one year ago. Yes I was overweight, but I was very healthy and felt like I was in my 20's. Now for the first time, I have high blood pressure, a hiatal hernia, acid reflux and major body aches and pains.
I am not about to give up and am 110% motivated to dedicate time and care to my health. I work two jobs and am a single mother caring for my three busy kids. I don't have much time to be hurting or held back by my weight. I am finished with that life. I hope to find may new friends on here to support me on my mission. I also look forward to being a cheerleader for all my new friends. emoticon

    I began this journey at with about 145 pounds to lose. I am evidence that you can indeed accomplish this. I"m not finished yet, but I"m on my way. You can do this.

    Welcome to SparkPeople! You’ll find plenty of support and encouragement here. No question is too stupid to ask, so post away and we’ll all put in our two cents worth. Utilize all the tools SP has to offer. I find tracking my food and exercise most helpful.
