Went to a beginning athlete's training session at 7 AM today. This is my 3rd Sunday session and I can feel myself getting stronger. It is really interesting watching myself (almost in third person) go through the different core-building exercises, cross-training activities, and basic fitness tasks. It is a very strange perspective seeing the movements and angles, and how the geometry that is my torso fits together and functions.
Had my first run-in with lunges (which was extremely weird on my crappy knees) and am feeling every inch of the new experience. It is going to be a great idea to go to my water aerobics class this afternoon to work out some of the kinks and spend some time in the hot tub and sauna.
I am so completely blessed to be working with the person I call trainer and, more importantly, friend. He really is making sure that I stay within my limits and that I don't hurt myself in all we are doing together.
