This time of year, I usually find it easier to get in shape, because of my love for the outdoors, long walks, hiking in the woods/mountains, and outdoor grilling. Memorial day weekend for us, usually includes our first big family cook-out; celebrating the unofficial start of Summer. I like to grill marinated lean meats and veggies. We also include big, healthy salads. Dessert would include watermelon and other fruits. So for me, it's so much easier to stay on plan when the weather is warm. I just wish it would get here!!! No walk yesterday, due to drizzle and cold. Today we woke up to 39 degree temps. YIKES!
The good news is that after almost 4 months of sever pain in my side, I am beginning to feel better! My doctor referred me to a pain management specialist. He is helping a lot, thankfully! One of the biggest frustrations is that after so many tests, etc they can't pinpoint the reason for all this pain!
In a few minutes, I will put on warm clothing, then enjoy a nice long walk. Hopefully increased activity will help keep the pain away.
The warm weather will arrive eventually; hopefully soon. No matter, I will celebrate each new day! Feeling better sure makes everything look brighter!!!
