For the last 10 months i have been following on and off the ease into 5k phone app running programme. This has been a major slog for me even week one was tough running for 60 seconds left me panting and out of breathe.
Each week the runs get slightly longer and each week they got tougher I started in July and in Sept I was still stuck at week 4.
So i took a break tried a few other things, mainly started doing boot camp classes 3 times a week. Boot camp finished early for christmas and i decided to jump back into running. I started straight back at week 4 and did it hooray!! and progressed quickly to week 5. Christmas came and i stopped running - in Jan i sprained my wrist and for whatever reason i decided that was a good enough excuses not to run.
by Feb after weeks of not doing anything I decided it was time to get back to the gym, I had regressed back to week 3 again so frustrating !
But I pushed through week 3,4 and 5. Week 6 took me a few attempts as did week 7.
I'm very very close to the end now today i completed 5 mins walk 20 min run, 4 mins walk, 6 mins run, 2 min walk 4 mins rn and a 5 min cool down the distance on the treadmill when i finished was 5k !
This is te first time I have covered the elusive 5k distance and at 46 mins it was very very slow but now i know i can do the distance i just need to keep shrinking the walk times and run the whole thing !
I'd like to think that by July (1 year from the start) I will finally tick off this goal !
